Spellbinders Jack of All Trades – Masculine Valentine, Anniversary or Birthday!

Hello and welcome back!

Today I have a very simple masculine card design. I say design because this could be used for any occasion just swap out sentiments for what you need.

Spellbinders kindly sent me a couple elements from the Jack of All Trades collection, which are playing card elements. For todays project I used the Pip & Rank Dies as well as then Kaleidoscope Noble Suite dies. Creating a 2 hearts (that beat as one) card design.

I die cut the Kaleidoscope heart dies (which is 3 layers) from black and matte gold cardstock, using gold on the bottom and top layer and black as the center layer. I die cut 2 sets as you can see and then put each of the points together using the sentiment to cover that connection. The small heart under the number 2 comes from the top layer heart, the individual heart die you see in the photo next to the club, diamond and spade was too big for this design. The number 2 is from the Pip & Rank die set which comes with those individual suite dies I just mentioned.

I used 2 rectangle layering dies to create the inside frame, if you look close I adhered those hearts a bit to low, not centered very well so adding in the frame not only have it some additional detail, but keeps you from focusing on the fact that it is not centered…lol tricks the eye if you will.

For the background I used the Altenew Betterpress Plate Gilded Marble. I did use the Betterpress system, but you do not need it. I have a video coming soon sharing all about it! For the gold ink I used Brilliance Galaxy Gold. I was the perfect ink color to coordinate with the matte gold paper I used throughout the design. I did not ink up the whole plate, only the top right and bottom left corners and coming up the sides of each a bit. I lightly inked up going towards the center but I wanted that soft so I used a very light hand.

The Always & Forever sentiment comes from the Mini Everyday Sentiments Hot Foil plates that I used with my Betterpress system (it is a no no…we will talk about it in my upcoming video-I promise) I used the same Brilliance Galaxy Gold ink. If you are wondering, Delicata Golden Glitz is too warm (Dark) it just didn’t look right.

I used 100lb black cardstock and liquid glue to adhere everything. If you have double sided adhesive for your die cuts, I recommend it. if Not, liquid glue works, that is what I used.

Alright, that is a wrap! Thanks for stopping by. I hope this inspires some masculine cards for the future. Products used listed below.
