Spellbinders Featuring Simons Space Adventures

Hello and welcome back!

I have a couple cute space themed cards for you great for the little ones and outer space junkies alike!

Spellbinders sent me a few elements in the Simons Space Adventures collection to share. (Thanks Spellbinders)

Let’s start with To The Moon die set.

I have several pigment powder background in my stash so I pulled a couple out for today’s cards. You can do this with ink pads as well. The colors are pinks, purples and blues. I trimmed the pigment background down to 4×5.25 it could be smaller, you just want it large enough to cover the hole from the cloud die cuts from Spellbinders Tunnel Clouds die set.

I die cut the large and middle Tunnel Clouds for my window using Accent Opaque 100 lb cardstock. I buy this from Amazon, when it is on sale. Each layer started at 4.25×5.50 and then layered on top of each other. This is a great die set to have for multiple window idea cards.

I used a grey metallic cardstock for the space ship with black cardstock for the black elements. I used fog colored cardstock for the center window and the moons top layer, the under layer is the same grey metallic as the space ship. I had some yellow and orange pigment powder panels and die cut the flame layers from those.

For the stars and Space Greetings sentiments I used silver glitter cardstock. This would make a great birthday card as well.

Next up a cute little spaceship birthday card using UFO Friends

I used another panel from the pigment background (I use 9×12 sheets of watercolor paper when I create my backgrounds)

I used several elements from the collection for this card. The 3d stars are from the Starry Night 3d embossing folder, this is a skinny folder and works great in the Scout. I needed to emboss most of the panel so used my Platinum 6. I embossed the top panel which leaves a line from the edge of the folder so when I did the middle lower part of the panel I brought the folder up to meet that line. I was then able to cover up the line with the spaceship and sentiment.

I used fog cardstock, silver glitter cardstock and vellum to create the ship, dome and beam over the tree tops. I used Versafine Onyx black ink and a tree stencil and let that dry. Once the black ink was dry I used Brilliance Platinum Planet and rubbed it over all the raised stars creating lots of shimmer.

My alien was die cut from some blue-green and yellow pigment backgrounds and the stars, shooting star and sentiments were all die cut using silver glitter cardstock. I popped up the sentiments with some foam tape to bring them just above the alien.

I think these turned out cute and something different to have in my card stash.
