Spellbinders Bougie Birthday Collection

Hello and welcome back!

Spellbinders kindly sent me a couple elements from the Bougie Birthday Collection. Specifically the Treat Yourself gift card holder die, Fabulous Birthday dies and the Classy Numbers dies. I decided to take the confetti elements from the Treat Yourself gift card holder set along with a couple other elements from the other dies sets to create a birthday card for my husband who turns 60 in March.

I used a variety of gold and rose gold card stock for then confetti elements and the 60th dies and some silver glitter cardstock for the Happy and babe die cuts. The rose gold mirror looks a lot like copper.

For the background I used Brushed Metallic Card Stock. Another option in the Stardream Metallic Onyx black (these two cardstocks are identical) I then added Prima Metallic watercolors in Celestial, Star Corona and Supernova. Using a fan brush I splattered on each of the colors in a diagonal manner from top left to the bottom right corner through the center.

I set that off to dry and went ahead die cutting the confetti elements, along with the numbers and word dies

Once my panel was dry I used the Spellbinders 3D Embossing Folder Beveled Diamonds and then started adding my confetti elements. This part is very much your visual preference, toss in the air like confetti and see where it lands kind of thing.

no, but seriously I placed my sentiments and number cut outs first and then added my confetti around those elements to fill things in. Making sure to bring some of the elements to the edge helps to make it look set back and frames things nicely.

The card panel started off 4.25×5.50 and I trimmed an 1/8th of an inch off all around and added that to 4.25×5.50 Stardream Metallic Mars card panel, it complimented the Supernova watercolor perfectly.

I am excited to give this to Matt, it’s the only card I told him he couldn’t see when I was finished with it, hahaha.

This card design would make a great New Years card and by changing the colors to metallic white back drop and some pastel confetti for a baby shower or birthday card.
