Hello friends!
Today I’m sharing a review of the Spellbinders Platinum 6 Die Cutting Machine and how it performs with 3D embossing folders.
I cover its features and benefits, along with the best sandwich settings I’ve found for getting beautiful, consistent results from a variety of brands. I’ve included that information below for easy reference now and in the future. If I missed a company you’d like tested, let me know and I’ll be happy to try it.
For these results, I’m using the Spellbinders Universal Plate System. I also use this plate system in my Sizzix Big Shot, and I truly think it’s a worthwhile investment if you haven’t added it to your craft room yet.
Thanks so much for watching and reading.
Katy
Below is the best sandwich I have found for the 3D Embossing Folders I have in my stash.
Spellbinders
Altenew
Honey Bee Stamps
The Greetery
These four folder brands use the "Standard" instructions for the 3D folders listed on the Base Platform A of the Universal Plate System.
Platform A + Embossing Folder + Adapter Plate D = your perfect 3D embossing folder results for Spellbinders, Altenew, Honey Bee Stamps and The Greetery.
Simon Says Stamp
Sizzix
Stampin' Up
These three brands are very thick embossing folders compared to the 4 listed above. The 'standard' sandwich will not work with these folders. It will break your machine if you try. Use this sandwich instead
Platform A + Embossing Folder + 1 Cutting Plate C = your perfect 3D embossing folder result for Simon, Sizzix and Stampin up.
Keep in mind, the Stampin' Up folder I have is very old, so the more current ones may be thinner and require swapping out the Cutting Plate C for the Adapter Plate D
Please note: I do NOT wet the paper before rolling through the die cutting machine.
